Three Days of Flavour, Design, and Inspiration: Adventures in Italy with Linea

This autumn, we had the wonderful opportunity to join the Linea tile centre team on a journey through Italy – a trip filled with design, aesthetics, and unforgettable tastes. We visited two remarkable tile factories, drawing inspiration for future projects, and ended our adventure in true Italian style – by immersing ourselves in the country’s traditions and cooking together.

Innovation Worthy of an Art Gallery

Our trip began in Sassuolo, in the Modena province, where we visited Florim – a factory renowned for combining tradition and innovation. Founded in 1962, the company has grown over six decades into one of Italy’s most advanced tile manufacturers, redefining the art of porcelain tiles by blending Italian craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and inspiring architects and designers around the world.

Seeing it in person was truly impressive. The Florim showroom spans 7,000 square metres —the size of a football stadium —and feels like an art gallery, where every turn reveals new colours, textures, shapes, and stories. We felt as if we had stepped into a creative laboratory where new interior ideas come to life.

An Inspiring Attention to Detail

Our second stop in Sassuolo was Kronos, another exceptional tile manufacturer located just two kilometres away. I honestly thought that after Florim’s showroom, nothing could surprise me – but I was wrong. Kronos not only surprised us but also inspired us, drawing us into their own unique world of aesthetics.

Celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, the factory stood out with its original, unconventional tile collections. The exceptional quality of their products reflected a beautiful balance between Italian craftsmanship, creativity, and technological innovation. We saw firsthand how meticulously designed surfaces and even the simplest formats could become striking interior elements.

Culture Rooted in Taste and Tradition

While our main goal in Italy was to explore interior and design trends, it would have been a sin not to indulge in the country’s rich culinary culture. The highlight of our trip was a hands-on experience at traditional Italian pasta-making workshops and a visit to Delizia Estense – a balsamic vinegar factory that has been operating for 55 years.

Witnessing how the vinegar is made and learning about traditions passed down through generations was truly fascinating. Although this wasn’t my first trip to Italy, every visit feels like a first discovery. This time, surrounded by the rolling hills of Sassuolo, we found a place where Modena’s finest balsamic vinegar – considered the best in all of Italy – is born.

This journey reminded us that true Italian beauty lies not only in form or product, but also in passion, craftsmanship, and tradition. Experiences like these are a reminder that creativity knows no bounds – you simply have to allow yourself to see the world through a different lens.

We returned home full of ideas and inspiration on how even the simplest tile can become a statement of design. A heartfelt thank you to the Linea team for giving us the chance not only to experience Italy but also to be inspired by it – bringing timeless interior solutions to life back in Lithuania.
